Nimbus introduce the new Volvo self docking system

At Nimbus Boats, we are always committed to offering the best in technology and comfort for our boaters. That’s why we are pleased to announce Volvo Penta’s latest innovation in the field of docking systems: the Docking Assist System, which is now extended to DPI (Dual Propeller IPS) tail systems, allowing our customers to enjoy greater precision, control and ease when docking their boats.

Originally launched for Volvo Penta’s Inboard Performance System (IPS) propulsion systems, this cutting-edge technology has revolutionised the way boaters manage berthing. The assisted docking system uses advanced algorithms and sensors to compensate for factors such as wind and current, facilitating the docking process in a semi-automated manner. This enhancement, now also integrated into DPI tail systems, extends the capability of this innovative technology to an even wider range of vessels.

The highlight of this system is its ability to provide a smoother and more controlled docking experience, allowing boaters to manoeuvre with impressive precision even in challenging conditions, such as strong winds or unpredictable currents. With the assisted docking system, manoeuvres that previously could be challenging are performed with greater ease, reducing physical effort and stress for captains and crews.

This advance not only improves the safety of the docking process, but also increases the confidence of the sailors when facing complicated situations in harbours and marinas. The system’s semi-automated assistance ensures that the vessel is positioned precisely in the berth, optimising the use of available space and avoiding potential damage during manoeuvring.

Now, with extended compatibility to Volvo Penta’s DPI tail systems, this innovative system is adapted to a wider range of vessels, giving even more boaters the opportunity to enjoy this cutting-edge technology. Whether in strong winds, unpredictable currents or tight spaces, the assisted docking system provides an easier and safer docking experience for everyone.

At Nimbus Boats, we are proud to offer this state-of-the-art technology on board our boats, enhancing every aspect of the boating experience so that our customers can enjoy a pleasant, hassle-free journey. With Volvo Penta’s assisted docking system, your docking manoeuvres will never be the same, leading you towards a more precise, comfortable and safer navigation.
